Abdullah Türk

Applied Computer Science student

I build things that sit close to the hardware, embedded systems, sensors, and models small enough to run on a microcontroller. I'm studying in Enschede, just back from a summer internship at Microsoft Türkiye, and building Hoffle, an open-source Discord alternative that started on a desktop in my room.

About me

I'm Abdullah Türk (often written Abdullah Turk), an Applied Computer Science student at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Enschede, the Netherlands. I'm from Türkiye and moved to the Netherlands in 2024 to study.

Most of my work sits where software meets hardware: C and C++ on microcontrollers, sensor drivers, and machine-learning models small enough to run on the device itself, like the EMG-controlled bionic hand I co-built at Saxion. This summer I interned at Microsoft Türkiye in Istanbul, building a document assistant that runs entirely offline.

Outside my studies I build Hoffle, a free and open-source Discord alternative, and lead development on THE DECIDER, a narrative game in Godot. Before university I spent two and a half years as a social media editor at Filmograf Media. I speak Turkish and English, and I'm learning Dutch.

Currently

  • Third-year BSc Applied Computer Science at Saxion
  • Building Hoffle, a free and open-source Discord alternative
  • Lead developer on THE DECIDER, a narrative game in Godot
  • Just finished a summer internship at Microsoft Türkiye, building offline document Q&A with RAG

Hoffle

Live

React 19 · WebRTC · Docker · AGPL-3.0

A free, open-source Discord alternative for small groups, voice rooms, 1080p screen sharing, synced music and a D&D table. It began as a chat server for my friends; now anyone can use it or host their own.

THE DECIDER

THE DECIDER

In development

Godot Engine · Narrative design

A choices-matter simulation where you review the records of the dead and pass judgement. Morally ambiguous by design. I lead the technical direction; release planned for 2028.

EMG Bionic Hand

EMG Bionic Hand

Completed

TinyML · Arduino Nano 33 BLE · C/C++

A low-cost robotic hand driven by muscle signals. A TinyML pipeline reads a Grove EMG sensor and controls the hand in real time, entirely on-device across two microcontrollers.
